The ideas of either continuity or change can cause conflict within society.
Conflicting ideologies are always present but something causes people to
act upon these conflicts and change occurs. The English Revolution (English
Civil War) and the French Revolution were two events where conflict was
present and as a result of actions of people change occurred. Compare (show
relationships) these two major events and determine which may have been
more successful. (Must define what is successful)

Semester Essay
Revolutions occur when people can no longer make change in the system through legal channels. The French and English Revolutions were two revolutions that occured during the 17th and 18th centuries when people felt that they could no longer accept the current conditions. These two revolutions were both successful in making change in their country. Compare these two revolutions. The word "compare" means to show relationships. Either analyze from the view point of their differences OR OR their similarities.
