Definitions for Indicators -
Gross National Product (GNP)the total value of a country's production, services, and goods for one year.
GNP per capita- GNP divided by number of people in country to show an average value for each person.
Life expectancy at birth-Average number of years people live.
Infant mortality rate per 1,000-Out of every 1,000 babies born, the number who will die before their first birthday.
Daily per capita caloric supply as percentage of requirement- A measure of whether the people have enough to eat- the figure indicates through a percent the extent to which, on an average, a person takes in enough calories to be healthy. (Below 100% a nation runs the risk of wide spread malnutrition.)
Adult literacy rate- the percentage of adults who are able to read and write.
